Daylesford Farm

This place is incredible! It’s exactly how I’d love my own cafe to be if I was ever lucky enough to have my own place one day (yes, that’s the dream..). There are a few branches around London (Notting Hill, Pimlico and Marylebone) but we have been to the Marylebone branch every time so far as it’s so convenient for us to get to and we love that part of London 🙂 It’s beautiful inside and out, and has the most perfect mix of fresh, healthy and organic food as well as plenty of treats. They use fresh produce from their farm in Gloucestershire and everything that they sell is homemade and presented in the most immaculate way.

Tetley tea

I love tea. I love coffee. I love hot chocolate. I think I just love hot drinks and I live on them at work where the AC is cranked up so high that I sit there shivering permanently! I know a lot of people who are either tea or coffee drinkers but truthfully I love and drink both equally. I’d say I’ve turned into a bit of a coffee snob since moving to London – I avoid chains and I’m always searching for cute independent coffee shops to find the perfect flat white! I’m not quite so much of a tea snob and I can’t say that I think the upmarket tea companies popping up nowadays are always worth the premium you pay but it’s still safe to say that my tea drinking habits have changed too. Bol salad jars

One night last week I came home to the best delivery! Bol foods have recently expanded into these new #ShakeItToMakeIt salads and they were kind enough to send me some samples to try. They came beautifully packaged in a little brown box! I’ve had their hot pots before which I think are amazing so I couldn’t wait to try them.. I didn’t know where to start as they all looked so good! I’ve been exceptionally bad with food prep recently – I’m so busy that the last thing I want to think about when I’m at home is cooking so they were perfect to stop me from eating out for every single meal 😉 I think they are currently only stocked online at Ocado. I’m not sure if supermarkets stock them yet as I think I’ve only seen their hot pots but I assume they will launch them in supermarkets at some point! Continue reading Bol salad jars

“Gym is my boyfriend”

“Gym is my boyfriend”. Yep. Wow. I seriously saw a young girl wearing a top saying this the other day. Other ridiculous fitness memes I’ve seen flying around the internet include “obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.” No. Being lazy is no more unhealthy than turning fitness into an obsession. Or “the only workout you’ll regret is the one you didnt do”. Yes because forcing yourself to workout when your body is exhausted is a terrific idea.

The Modern Pantry

“MODERN comes from the Latin term modernus; pertaining to, or characteristic of the current period. It conjures up the excitement of something new, fresh and original.

PANTRY comes from the Latin word panis, meaning bread. A pantry is a cupboard or room which houses the necessities of life…

Together, these two words embody The Modern Pantry’s philosophy: the desire to please and excite the palate by fusing everyday cooking with modern ingredients.”
