For months before our wedding we were wondering if we were missing something. So many people had told me that planning their wedding had been the hardest and most stressful thing they’d ever done, yet we were completely relaxed and wondering what people could possibly worry about. Maybe we just got lucky that our suppliers and venue were so incredible, maybe the significance of the day didn’t really sink in (I’m still not sure it has!) or maybe it was because I’ve never been one of those who has ever pictured a “dream wedding” in my head but I wanted to post about the people/companies who really went above and beyond to make our day run so seamlessly so that they get the credit (and hopefully future business) that they deserve. This is not a sponsored post and I’m not affiliated with any of the companies or people mentioned in this post – any suppliers that we weren’t impressed with/wouldn’t recommend simply aren’t mentioned 🙂
Recently tilda sent me some of their ready-to-eat rice packs to review in line with their recent social media campaign, #RiceToTheChallenge. For me it wasn’t so much a “new product review” and more of a chance to just promote products that I think are great as I absolutely love these rice packs – I’ve been buying them for as long as I can remember!
As a dessert-lover with a huge sweet tooth, I always love trying new products and I’m so grateful for the free samples that I get sent, particularly when it’s products that I might not otherwise spot or have the chance to try. I absolutely love coconut – coconut itself, coconut milk, coconut cream and all things coconut flavoured (ok.. except for coconut water – I can’t stand the stuff!) so when Coconut Collaborative added a new lemon pot to their dessert range I couldn’t wait to try it!
As absolutely huge Hotel Chocolat fans we couldn’t have been much more excited when we found out they were based in St Lucia. We couldn’t wait to eat at their restaurant – Boucan – we’d even considered staying at their hotel but we’d fallen in love with the beautiful Sugar Beach resort.
Ask any Londoner where to find the best pizza and amongst some of the other big names like Franco Manca, Pizza Pilgrims and Homeslice, Pizza Union is almost sure to come up. It’s most recent expansion to a new location near Aldgate (which is the one we tried) would certainly suggest it’s popular, but does it live up to the hype..?
For a chocolate lover like me, I genuinely don’t think I could imagine a more heavenly way to spend a weekend afternoon than having chocolate afternoon tea. I was lucky enough to be spoilt by one of my closest friends and taken here for a (very!) belated birthday present. We’re both so busy that it’s hard for us to find time to catch up, so spending hours chatting over tea, coffee and cake was absolutely perfect.
